Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. (NIV)
We live in a culture that treats busyness like a virtue. Rest feels like laziness. Grieving feels like weakness. Saying no feels like failure. And so we push through seasons we were never meant to rush, wondering why we feel so hollow and out of step.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 is one of those verses that gets quoted often but rarely gets its full due. The Hebrew word for "time" here is "et," which carries the sense of an appointed moment, a right time, not just any time. The Preacher isn't offering a passive shrug about how life happens. He's making a profound theological claim: that God has built rhythm into the very structure of existence. Seasons are not accidents. They are architecture.

Lord, I confess that I often fight the season I'm in instead of trusting You in it. Help me to believe that You are just as present in the slow and quiet moments as You are in the fruitful and visible ones. Give me peace with where I am, and wisdom to receive what this season is offering. I don't want to miss what You're doing because I'm too busy wishing things were different. Teach me to trust Your timing more than my own understanding. Amen.
